FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What is a protocol?
A protocol is a science-backed routine or habit designed to improve specific aspects of your health and well-being. Each protocol is based on research and designed to be sustainable and effective when practiced consistently.
How many protocols can I follow for free?
You can follow up to 3 protocols simultaneously on the free plan. To follow more protocols, upgrade to Premium for unlimited access.
How do streaks work?
A streak counts consecutive days you complete a protocol. If you miss a day, your streak resets to 0. Your best streak is saved so you can always see your personal record.
Can I create my own protocols?
Yes! Tap the + button in the All Protocols tab to create custom protocols tailored to your specific needs and goals. You can create up to 20 custom protocols. If you want to add more you'd need to remove some existing ones.
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored locally on your device. We don't collect or store any personal information on external servers.
How do reminders work?
You can set daily reminders for each protocol you're following. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device and will notify you at your chosen time each day.
What do I get with Premium?
Premium unlocks unlimited protocols (vs 3 on free) and priority support. It's perfect for users who want to track multiple habits simultaneously.
How can I access the studies that support the protocols?
While certain studies may be accessible only through paywalled scientific journals, the app's co-founder, Aleksandr, can be contacted at alex@protocols-app.com to provide a list of the studies referenced in each protocol.
How should I decide which protocols to follow?
Begin by focusing on protocols you have not yet mastered. For example, if you are already avoiding processed foods, you can skip that protocol and instead choose one you would like to improve at. However, for tracking purposes, you can still select as many protocols as you prefer.
How many protocols should I follow at a time?
While there is no single correct number, we recommend starting with 3 to 5 protocols and gradually working up to a maximum of 10 to 15 at a time.
